Hello Everyone,
I have been advised that many emails being sent from al-anon.ab.ca email addresses are receiving notifications that their emails have failed to send or were blocked or bounced back by the recipient email server.
We are investigating on our end with our server host, but this is most likely due to increased spam filtering or updates to spam filters on various email platforms (gmail, outlook etc).
If you are not receiving emails from al-anon.ab.ca accounts that you are expecting, please check your spam folder to ensure the emails are not being redirected to spam.
I also encourage you to make sure that al-anon.ab.ca email addresses are added to your safe senders list or contacts, to ensure emails are received. Please see below for instructions on how to add email addresses or domains to safe sender or contact lists.

Adding an email to a safe sender list prevents important messages from landing in the junk/spam folder. On most platforms, this is done by adding the sender to your contacts, marking an existing email as “Not Spam,” or manually adding the address to “Safe Senders” in settings.
Gmail (Desktop)
- Add to Contacts: Open the email, hover over the sender’s name, and click the “Add to Contacts” icon.
- Create Filter (Best Method): Click the gear icon > See all settings > Filters and Blocked Addresses > Create a new filter.
- In the “From” field, type the email or domain (e.g.,
@example.com). Click Create filter. - Check the box Never send it to Spam and click Create filter.
Outlook (Desktop & Web)
- Right-Click Method: Right-click an email from the sender, select Junk, then select Never Block Sender.
- Settings Method: Click the gear icon (Settings) > Mail > Junk email.
- Under Safe senders and domains, click + Add, enter the email/domain, and press Enter.
Outlook (Classic App)
- Click Home > Junk > Junk Email Options.
- Click the Safe Senders tab > Add.
- Enter the email/domain and click OK.
- Click the Settings icon > More Settings.
- Select Filters > Add new filters.
- Enter a filter name and the email address, then set to folder “Inbox”.
- Open the email and tap the sender’s name in the “From” field.
- Tap Create New Contact or Add to Existing Contact.
- Open the email.
- Tap the sender’s profile picture/initial.
- Tap the Add to Contacts icon.
